Hi, I'm Lori!
As a passionate Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) teacher, I'm thrilled to welcome you to The FACS Classroom. My mission is simple: to empower fellow educators and inspire the next generation with essential life skills.
My Journey
I knew right out of high school that I wanted to be an inspiring and powerful FACS educator. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education: Family and Consumer Sciences back in 2007 and was lucky enough to jump right into the classroom. Years of experience taught me how to see from the eyes of the students and flip my perspective to make sure they were captivated in their own learning. My thirst for knowledge led me to pursue a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2009.
Over the years, I've seen firsthand the transformative power of FACS education. It equips students with the practical knowledge and skills they need to thrive in today's world. Being an educator myself, I know how demanding teaching can be. That's why I launched The FACS Classroom in 2010–to share high-quality, ready-to-use resources that save teachers valuable prep time and ignite student engagement.

Beyond the Classroom
When I'm not teaching or creating resources, you can find me spending time with my family, helping out on the farm, and exploring new places. I'm also an avid reader, a passionate cook, and a lifelong learner.
